WellyChef VMsure

The one supplement a homemade adult dog food needs to be complete. Add it to the foods you cook with and the Bowl Builder confirms every AAFCO Healthy Adult target, with NRC where AAFCO has none.

What one scoop does

Meat gives protein and phosphorus. Rice and vegetables give energy and fibre. Between them they leave calcium, iodine, zinc, copper, vitamin D, vitamin E and most B vitamins short. VMsure fills exactly those gaps, with taurine, choline and L-carnitine alongside.

Not an omega-3 source. Pair it with fish oil, 18 EPA : 12 DHA, and an omega-6 oil such as sunflower.

How much to use

Typical range for a healthy adult dog, before you refine it in the builder. The Bowl Builder sets the exact dose for your recipe, because the foods you choose change what VMsure needs to cover.

Adult dogAboutVMsure per day
10 lb (4.5 kg)350 kcal3.5–7 g
20 lb (9 kg)590 kcal6–12 g
30 lb (13.6 kg)790 kcal8–16 g
45 lb (20 kg)1,070 kcal11–21 g
60 lb (27 kg)1,330 kcal13–27 g
80 lb (36 kg)1,660 kcal17–33 g
100 lb (45 kg)1,960 kcal20–39 g

Calories use resting energy (70 × kg0.75) × 1.6 for a typical adult. Dose is 10–20 g per 1,000 kcal. Weigh it on a kitchen scale and stir it in after the food has cooled; heat damages vitamins.

Three rules

  1. Every bowl, every day. VMsure supplies the calcium and trace minerals; leaving it out leaves the recipe incomplete.
  2. Nothing else on top. Don't add another vitamin or mineral supplement. Fish oil and an omega-6 oil are the only additions.
  3. Adults only. Puppies, pregnant and nursing dogs need a growth diet with different calcium and protein. Ask your vet.

Open the Bowl Builder, enter your dog and a few foods, and the report card shows every nutrient per 1,000 kcal against its minimum, with the VMsure dose that gets it there. The Recipe Checker does the same for a recipe you already cook, and says how many more grams of VMsure close each gap.
